November 2023: Attention Postdoc Researchers Interested in YUFE Fellowship Opportunity!
We are actively seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher for a groundbreaking research project under the YUFE4postdoc call. https://www.yufe4postdocs.eu/ This 36-month postdoc position, which will be hosted at the University of Essex, United Kingdom, and in partnership with a research stay at the lab of Professor Peter Delputte from the University of Antwerpen, offers a unique chance to delve into the intricate dynamics of viral tropism in neuronal cells. Using state-of-the-art bulk and single-cell RNA-sequencing techniques, we aim to unravel the complexities of viral entry receptors and factors governing the interaction of respiratory viruses, including seasonal coronaviruses and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), with individual neuronal cells derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
This pioneering initiative is part of the Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) Alliance, co-funded by Horizon Europe’s Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) program. We welcome applications from talented individuals worldwide, specifically targeting early-career postdoctoral researchers with a maximum of six years since their PhD completion. Please note that the MSCA mobility rule applies: candidates should not have resided or carried out their primary activity in the prospective host university's country for more than 12 months within the last 36 months leading up to the call deadline.
We invite interested postdoc students to engage with us for in-depth discussions regarding the project’s research plans. Please feel free to share your CV via email and spread the word about this exceptional opportunity within your academic circles.
